Anxiety, Stress and Depression

The HSE has recently reported that 45% of all working days lost due to illness were a result of stress related conditions, such as depression and anxiety. Between 2015 and 2016 these equalled 11.7 million in Britain.

Our lives can be supercharged and high pressured. With technology intruding into our downtime with greater determination it is little wonder that we are now seeing the damaging results.

 

But stress, anxiety and depression are not just statistics that impact work performance. For an individual suffering from these conditions the impact on their daily lives, emotional wellbeing and even physical fitness can be severe. Most suffer in silence putting on a brave face and store up toxic thoughts and debilitating emotions. It is lonely and difficult to manage and the following list gives only a handful of the conditions and complications that can result:

  • Lack of sleep and insomnia
  • Exhaustion
  • Lack of interest in life
  • Panic Attacks
  • Digestion issues and IBS
  • Migraine or tension headaches
  • Weight gain / loss
  • Addictions
  • Impatience or irritability.
